Our Protocol

Prophylactically Treatement Overview

  1. Brook (Brooklynella hostilis)
  2. Flukes (Monogeneans)
  3. Ich (Cryptocaryon Irritans)
  4. Uronema (Uronema marinum)
  5. Velvet (Amyloodinium ocellatum)

Additionally, we treat for any signs of secondary infection.

Acclimation

Fish are acclimated first out of their shipping bags to clean fresh water as quickly as possible with salinity and temp matching. 

Formalin Bath

Fish are then bathed in Formalin at a concentration of 200ppm - 250ppm for 1 hour.

Prophylactic Treatment

Fish are transferred to clean water where are left to acclimate to the aquarium water while being treated in prazi pro, methylene blue, and nitrofurazone for 5-6 hours.

Copper & Parasite Treatment

Fish are then transferred to the aquarium where they are treated in copper at therapeutic dosage for at least one week while they are conditioned to the aquarium life and variety of foods. During this time, they are also treated for internal parasites with metroplex.
